BANNER LAKE COMMUNITY CAFE'

The Banner Lake Soup Kitchen also known as the Banner Lake Community Café has been in operation since November of 2013 and is proud to serve the entire county of Martin (not just Banner Lake). In addition to our Food Pantry, the Banner Lake Community and surrounding neighborhoods are able to utilize our weekly soup kitchen that has been supported by volunteers from many other communities throughout the county, including men and women from several churches. The Soup Kitchen promotes programs to motivate and educate low-income individuals and families.  These programs include a partnership with Whole Child Connection, Volunteers in Medicine and an onsite Community Information desk.  Partnering agencies also come to the Banner Lake Club several times a month to provide free health assistance to seniors and families who are homeless or migrant workers.  The community desk provides information on Martin County's resources including bus schedules and other opportunities. Our operating budget is supported solely by the Hobe Sound Community Chest and generous donations from the public. Volunteers assist daily with the food preparation, serving, clean up and weekend coverage for numerous events. The Banner Lake Club Inc. is more than just a site to receive a nutritious hot meal. It is a place people come to for daily contact with others and a place that provides an opportunity for individuals to interact with other Martin County Residents. The Banner Lake Soup Kitchen also supports staff from area agencies and programs for assistance with the many needs and problems they experience. The soup kitchen serves people from all walks of life, including homeless individuals and families and the working disadvantaged.

One of the many jewels under the Banner Lake Club Inc.’s umbrella is our mobile food pantry through our partnership with Treasure Coast Food Bank. Every Friday morning from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, residents from the Banner Lake Community and surrounding neighborhoods are able to have access to usable surpluses of food and other products.
